Notice on Paper Collection and Registration for "2009 National Cement Industrial Pollution Control Technology & Management Exchange Conference"
To units it may concern:
Cement industry is the essential and integral industry of national economy, though it is a high fuel consumption and heavy pollution industry. According to rough statistics, the dust emission of the cement industry is over 70% of the total emission nationally. Emission of air pollutants like SO2, nitrogen oxides and fluoride cannot be underestimated as well, meanwhile, aggravates the air pollution, so is it with the CO2 emission. Currently, in the cement industry of China, the new dry process kiln cement production has done well with environmental protection; however, 40% cement production remains big pollution control problems. Mature technology is still in short and it is urgently necessary to develop the cement production pollution control technology and equipment suitable for China. But, from the perspective of the whole industry, environmental achievements have been mainly dependent on the terminal control, which requires high costs for equipment investment and running, hindering the improvement for environment protection. So, it is most urgently to be addressed to how to effectively prevent pollution, improve the pollution control technology and equipment, strengthen the application and management of pollution control technology and equipment, increase the operational liability of pollution control technology and equipment, reduce the investment and running costs for environment protective equipment.
Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences and Building Material Sub-Council, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade will hold the 2009 National Cement Industrial Pollution Control Technology and Management Exchange Conference during 1 to 3 April of 2009 in Beijing Zhongyuan Hotel. The conference is intended to reach the objective of reducing the emission of the overall amount of major pollutants during the 11th national 5-year plan, accelerate the building of pollution prevention facilities in the cement industry, control in a comprehensive way the emission of dusts, SO2, nitrogen oxides, fluoride and CO2, upgrade the overall level of technical equipment quality and pollution control technology, locally innovate the pollution control technology and equipment, speed up the development pace of pollution control technology in the cement industry as to meet the urgent demands for environmental friendly technology in this industry, enable the advanced international pollution control technology and equipment to timely demonstrate and apply in China and get national advanced, mature and applied pollution prevention technology and equipment to go global. In the meanwhile, China Cement Association and Building Material Sub-Council, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade will hold the 2009 China International Cement Summit and the 10th China International Cement Technology and Equipment Exhibition.
The exchange conference is to invite discussions on hotspots and difficult issues on applied technology and practices of environmental protection and economic efforts, criteria for pollutant emission, clean production and pollution prevention, de-dust disposal and emission reduction of SO2, nitrogen oxides, fluoride and CO2.
The conference is collecting paper required as follows:

Units and individuals are encouraged to submit their papers about above-mentioned topics.
2. Paper Collection
1) The workshop will be nationwide to invite all related academic reports, papers and scientific research outcomes and those who are excellent will be selected to make presentations.
2) Profiles of Individuals: presenters shall give their profiles of about 300 words to the Host to introduce to the participants.
3) Requirements about the thesis: ① Adopt A4 paper, 5 Song typeface, 45 words every line and 42 lines for every page, no more than 5 pages generally. The author shall be liable for the thesis. The abstract of the thesis is required to be about 500 words; ② The author name, unit and postal code are under the thesis title; ③ Only electronic edition thesis (or floppy disc) is acceptable for the conference. All the thesis accepted will be edited in Collections of the 2009 National Cement Industrial Pollution Control Technology and Management Exchange Conference. Paper writers will be given certificates and participants will have one copy for each.
3. Keynote Reports
1) Officials from the Ministry of Environmental Protection introduce about environmental protection plan during the 11th national 5-year plan and current issues and missions on environmental protection; situation of pollution control of national cement factories and national grant funds for pollution control in the cement industry and its application etc.
2) Officials from the National Development and Reform Commission introduce about the policies on cement industrial pollution control technology and related management regulations on environmental protection issues like energy saving and emission reduction etc.
4. Special Reports
1) Invite domestic and international famous experts to introduce the challenges met by the cement industry for environmental protection and related information about the environmental protection control technology.
2) To absorb and import national and international cement pollution control concept, technology and management experiences, well known officials and experts are invited to attend the conference and make keynote presentation or important academic reports. 3) Experts will generally analyze and summarize the development history, current situation and developmental trend of dedust of Chinese cement industry; introduce the promoted and well-performed clean cement production technology and comprehensive solutions.
5. Participants
1) Management: government officials, managers from industry associations and pollution control departments
2) Research Institutions: cement, environmental protection research institution, designing institutes, surveillance organizations and environment evaluation units etc.
3) Enterprises: cement manufacturers, cement equipment manufacturers, environmental protection engineering corporations, desulphurization and dedust control corporation, environmental protection engineering construction corporations, technical managers of coal and furnace enterprises and technicians and managers.
4) Other units or individuals willing to join the discussions.
6. Arrangement
1) Meeting arrangement: it will last 3 days. 2 days are for keynote reports, case study and group discussions and one day for field visit.
2) Language: during the meeting, Chinese and English will be both used for communication. The simultaneous interpretation will be provided in the meeting.
3) Agenda and schedule will be given to participants one month ahead of the conference.

Participation Procedure
1. Charge Standard
1. Fees for participation: every participant shall pay 1000 US dollars, which includes fees like 3 meals, simultaneous interpretation, collection of papers, meeting documents, folders, field visits and certificates etc.
2. Paper submission: people who submit paper without attending the conference will be charged the fees for papers print and 100 US dollars for each paper.
3. Experts report (enterprise presentation): 1500 US dollars for 30 minutes
4. Key note speech (enterprise presentation): 2000 US dollars for 20 minutes
5. Exclusive sponsor: the exclusive sponsor enterprise is welcomed. The conditions and rewards can be seen in the invitation letter of sponsoring.

3. Meeting requirements
1) Presenters are required to prepare PPT documents themselves and submit to the secretariat before the meeting so that we can arrange the time and prepare for simultaneous interpretation.
2) Those who intend to publish the research outcomes with posters shall contact with the secretariat before the meeting.
3) Companies that need do advertisement or distribute promotion materials in the conference cannot go until approved by the secretariat.
4. How to attend the conference
1) Participants shall fill out the form of registration and fax it before 1st March 2009 or email to the secretariat.
2) After registration, participants shall transfer fees to the appointed bank account for us to arrange.
3) During the conference, accommodation will be arranged all together for contact convenience but frees are borne by participants.
4) Participants shall fax back the registration in the required time. If participants outnumber the capacity of conference, the secretariat will arrange according to the responding registration date.
